People are not understanding how donations work... It is food that is not able to be sold in stores anymore, thats why it was donated in the first place, from stores that can no longer sell it. It could be moldy, or fresh food that was frozen and can no longer be sold as fresh because a customer put it in the freezer, type of thing. There can be 1 or 2 spoiled apples in a bag. Food could be "expired" as in the best buy date has passed and can no longer be purchased, which is why its free. Yes, in an ideal world it would be free food thats good quality and not close to expiration but unfortunately its imperfect food thats 'okay' quality. These food banks have helped me and other people PLENTY of times and people need to be a bit more understanding instead of being outraged. But that's el paso for you smh... This is not the city it used to be and thats unfortunate for everyone, especially service workers/volunteers.

I delivered a load of potatoes there today in the big rig it's normally a blind spot if you pulled in to back into the dock but I backed in from the street and made it a driver side back in barely easy the people were nice super respectful they had me unloaded within 45 minutes and on my way thank you so much you guys are great to the drivers
Im so very grateful for this place my fist time. I never thought I would need this type of assistance. The way this economy and government is screwing everyone over where we are all feeling the financial crisis. I felt embarrassed coming here but during this inflation everyone is impacted by it especially those who lost their jobs just like me. Bless those people who work here and bless this wonderful food resource.
Tips: Super hard, unripe, green bananas? Place them in a bag with an orange and leave them in the dark for 3 days to ripen up. If an item says "best by", it means it's still good after the date, just not as fresh! So you can STILL eat it and you'll be okay. An item says "Expires by," and it expires very soon? Just put it in the freezer and eat the same day you defrost it. Too many yogurts?? Place them in the freezer they taste great frozen, almost like ice cream. Too many pizza crusts?? You can google what to make with it. it's literally just bread. They make good breadsticks. Dont like the chicken? Boil it, shred it, bake it wrapped in a pizza crust. Cook it with a sauce or potatoes. Chicken can be made into so many different dishes. I personally liked how it came breaded already. My point: Appreciate what you get and make the best of it. Thank you to all those who donate and the volunteers. My son has food in his belly, and we get a weeks worth of meals.

yes, please come here. It is amazing. You have a three hour long line that you wait in and that’s not including how people cut the line at the light making your way longer. Also the food they gave you after waiting in that 2 1/2 hour three hour long line is just beautiful, it expires the next day. Most of it is molded and get away with it. Someone should contact the news because this place is a crime. It’s supposed to be helpful for families and not so stressful and help feed families but how are you able to feed families with molded food?
